Role Summary
The Service Engineer plays a critical role in the installation, commissioning, and ongoing technical support of our customised electrical products across customer sites. This position requires strong diagnostic capability, customer engagement skills, and the ability to work independently in the field. You will act as a technical ambassador for the company, ensuring high-quality service delivery, accurate fault resolution, and continuous improvement in line with our commitment to “Creating a Better Way.”

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Field Service
- Attend customer sites as instructed by the Service Lead to install, commission, service, and repair both AC and DC powered systems and components.
- Diagnose technical issues accurately and implement effective corrective actions to restore equipment performance.
- Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Identify and report any recurring product issues, installation challenges, or design concerns to the relevant Department Manager for investigation and product improvement.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including job sheets, service reports, timesheets, part lists, risk assessments, and modification records.
- Assist with the creation and update of operational guides, installation instructions, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical documentation for new or modified products.
Communication & Customer Relations
- Communicate effectively with customers on-site, providing clear explanations of issues, corrective work, and product operation.
- Maintain regular communication with the Service Lead, ensuring that product information, technical findings, and customer feedback are accurately conveyed.
- Support any investigations relating to customer complaints or commissioning issues, cooperating fully to ensure swift resolution and high service standards.
Tools, Equipment & Professional Standards
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean, organised, and serviceable condition.
- Ensure personal appearance and workwear reflect company standards for professionalism and safety
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies during on-site and workshop activities.

Qualifications & Experience (Essential)
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC, or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years proven experience in a field service, maintenance, or commissioning role within electrical, electro-mechanical, or industrial equipment settings.
- Experience of both AC and DC powered machines
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Be prepared to work overtime as requested
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Have no legal restrictions to travel outside of the UK to our international customers
Desirable
- Have previous experience within the Quarry/Crushing industry
- Experience working on customised electrical products or control systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, motor control, low-voltage systems, or industrial machinery.
- Previous OEM service experience.
- 18th Edition or willingness to obtain.
Working Pattern & Travel Expectations
- Field-based role with regular travel across NI (occasional travel across ROI/UK may be required).
- There may also be limited requirements to travel to international customers where necessary.
- Standard working hours with flexibility needed for customer commitments, travel time, and occasional out-of-hours work.
